Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

The Air Force family member travel screening process is designed to screen and clear family members for their upcoming permanent change of station. The Exceptional Family Member Program is designed to provide support to military family members with identified special needs. We assess, document, and transmit information about special education and medical needs of all family members planning to move at the government’s expense and work to enhance facility and program accessibility for individuals with disabilities or other medical requirements. Learn more about the Exceptional Family Member Program. For out-processing, please attend the family member relocation clearance brief six months prior to the date you are expected to return from overseas, or DEROS. The briefing is held every Monday at 9 a.m. in Building 405, Room 1174.
